Biography

Recent design credits include Crazy for You for North Shore Music Theatre, Fiddler on the Roof and Pump Boys and Dinettes for MSMT, CAMELOT (world premiere) for Charleston Ballet Theatre. Jesus Christ Superstar for North Shore Music Theatre; Carousel for MSMT; One Mo’ Time on Broadway and for Williamstown Theatre Festival; Into The Woods for Michael Montel; Vatican II: What The Hell Happened? for Cornerstone Entertainment; Victoria and West Side Story for Los Ninos Cantores, Bogota, Colombia; world premiere of Sonya, starring Julie Harris; scenery and costumes for The Nutcracker, Fort Worth Dallas Ballet and the North Carolina School of the Arts; scenery for West Side Story, Paris, France; scenery and costumes for world premieres of Peter Pan (new musical version) for Minneapolis Children’s Theatre Company and The Singing Child by Gian-Carlo Menotti at Spoleto USA Festival, Charleston, S.C.; numerous ballets for the Joffrey Ballet, including Edward Stierle’s Empyrean Dances and Charles Moulton’s Panoranogram; ballets for Ohio Ballet, Santa Barbara Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and Universal Ballet of Seoul, Korea; regional theatre productions for Huntington Theatre Company, Roundabout Theatre Company, North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, and INTAR. 

He was principal assistant to Oliver Smith for eleven years on productions for American Ballet Theatre, Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, La Scala, San Francisco Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet.

He has painted scenery for many productions at the Metropolitan Opera, including War and Peace, Il Trovatore, The Gambler, Samson et Dalila, La Traviata, Le Nozze di Figaro, Carmen, Lucia di Lammermoor, and Tosca; and for the films Malcolm X and Three Sovereigns for Sarah (with Vanessa Redgrave).
